Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» (Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³») participated in the global giving movement, Giving Tuesday, this year on Nov. 28, and raised $11,589 in the first day of the #GiveTueÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³» campaign that will run through Dec. 31.
The campaign’s launch day featured more than 50 donors supporting Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»â€™s innovators, researchers, pharmacists, leaders, scientists, entrepreneurs, pioneers, and change makers.
“We are overwhelmed and pleased with the outpouring of support for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» students and alumni—our change makers,â€ said Christa Oudshoorn-Hobo, alumni engagement manager at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³». “It’s clear that donors realize their support can literally change the world.â€
Donors had the option of directing their gifts toward scholarships, professional development, faculty support and research, nuts and bolts (facility upkeep), and innovation.
During the #GiveTueÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³» launch day, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» wrote their names on Post-It notes inside the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» Café. Students could even donate to the campaign by adding $2 directly to their meal purchase and will until the end of the semester.
Additionally, the first 100 donors received a free Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»-branded t-shirt, while donations above $75 received a free gift.
