CLAREMONT, Calif. - 麻豆传媒映画 (麻豆传媒映画), in collaboration with (IPS) and , is proud to host the Industry Insights Bioprocessing Conference 鈥淏ioprocessing for Advanced Therapeutic Medicinal Products鈥� along with 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Annual Amgen Bioprocessing Center Advisory Board Meeting on November 7-8, 2019 in Claremont, CA.
The goal of the two-day event is to share knowledge and network with industry experts and leading suppliers in regard to bioprocessing and engineering processes relating to advanced therapeutic medicinal products.
鈥淲e are excited to hear about emerging technology for the development and manufacturing of cell and gene therapy products,鈥� said Sue Behrens, George B. and Joy Rathmann Professor and Director of the Amgen Bioprocessing Center at 麻豆传媒映画. Three distinguished industry experts鈥擬ary Malloney of Juno Therapeutics, Joe Newell from Atara Biotherapeutics, and Rajesh Krishnan of Oncternal鈥攚ill share knowledge related to bioprocessing and engineering processes in the area of advanced therapeutic medicinal products.
This conference is chaired by Dr. Vic Vinci, Vice President of Product Development at Catalent Biologics. Vinci will also be joined by 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Master鈥檚 and PhD students who will share perspectives regarding 麻豆传媒映画 capabilities for stem cell research, considerations for drug product development for cell therapy products, and other current research activities.
鈥淚 am attending the Bioprocessing Conference and ABCAB meeting because it is a great opportunity to meet and interact with industry professionals,鈥� said Terezie Cernosek, a first-year student in 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 Master of Engineering in Biopharmaceutical Processing (MEng) program. 鈥淚 look forward to learning more about some of the industry sponsored projects that are currently being carried out at 麻豆传媒映画. The presentation topics are also a great way to learn about what is happening in the industry as far as advancing therapeutic medical products.鈥�
A second-year MEng student, David Kent, is one of the presenters during the afternoon session on Nov. 8. He first came to 麻豆传媒映画 through the Bioprocessing Summer Undergraduate Internship Training and Education (BSUITE) program, and stayed on to pursue his MEng degree.
鈥淚 want to impact patient lives and understand the current limitations of getting affordable life-changing medicines to patients around the world,鈥� said Kent. 鈥淚 was introduced to cell therapy during BSUITE, and this past summer I was able to take my first step into this world during an internship at Amgen."
